Fiction Theater – 2015 Live Performance

Gold Divider

Fiction Theater is the first song that Spider and Michael ever wrote together back in 1975.

Michael and Spider recorded it with their band Red Wedding in 1985 (produced by Ed Grundman and Rick Hart) for a third EP album that was never released. For many, this is their favorite of our songs, a song about prostitutes and vampires.

Spider wasn’t feeling good as a result of the cancer the night they filmed this version, and he could only stand for one take. It was hard for him to stand holding his heavy guitar as he had very little muscle left in his arms, and his legs were extremely bloated due to fluid build-up; not to mention that he had very little feeling left in his fingers.

his was filmed about a week and a half before Spider’s death in May of 2015.
